MEET THE TEAM

Al Galpin - "Al Bear"

Hi, I'm Al, thanks for checking out Bear Cave Studios. This is where I showcase all my various projects, and potentially help you with your own projects.

I studied Radio Production as part of my degree in Media Studies & Business Management from the University of Manchester.

I have been Station Manager (Fuzed FM, The Bear), Head of Music (The Source 1251 AM), Producer (Ram Air, Wire FM) and Presenter (Southampton HBA, Outreach Radio, Wire FM, The Bear, Fuzed FM, The Source).

I also created the SecondHandSongs Radio Show, which has been syndicated to over 70 stations in 20 countries.

I've been podcasting since 2007 on various shows, including the Dead Piett Society. In 2017 I launched a charity podcasting event, SuperPod, later known as Southampton Podcast Festival.

I am also a self-taught amateur graphic designer, having spent years playing around with PhotoShop, and more recently Illustrator, while watching videos and reading articles to learn how to create logos and other graphics for my own projects.

As well as radio, podcasts & graphic design, I’m also interested in football and wrestling. I’m keen on comics, country music and chocolate as well as burgers, baseball and bourbon. And apparently alliteration.

I’m a husband to Kitty, dad to Hunter, a Pointless finalist and play baseball for the New Forest ThunderKnights.
